Rehan’s Story

Humans of JBS/

Every decision we make leads to a different path and while we might regret some of the decisions we make, we should try and be happy with what we’ve got. That’s the motto in life that I like to follow.

There’s been times I wish I had made different choices, like the time my father pushed me towards doing my MBA from IBA. I had just completed my graduation and was working for Siemen’s Pakistan when I got my acceptance into IBA, as well as the chance to work for Siemen’s Dubai. I of course picked the latter because it was a good offer and gave me the chance to broaden my horizons. But i still remember how my father had said that if I don’t do my MBA right now, I never will and well he proved to be right. Even though because of Jaffer I did get to do an Executive MBA, it wasn’t the same. Of course a part of me still regrets not taking my father’s advice, but maybe things worked out for the best.

I’ve always been one of those people who had tried to get the most out of their life. I love to stay active, travel and spend time with my friends. As a kid I was known for my cycling skills around my neighborhood, I admit I’ve definitely done some questionable things with it during my time. Nowadays, cycling is a way for me to stay healthy and in shape. It’s become part of my routine and I enjoy it. I’m always up and about after fajr. On the weekends, I love having breakfast with my school friends and old work colleagues. It’s a great way for us to catch up with each other and stay in touch.

I enjoy the work that I do as well. In the past I’ve won 2 contests because of my work. One of the contests that I won gave me the chance to travel to Turkey, France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland with my wife. It was a pretty amazing trip. I still love to travel and am planning a road trip to Quetta for a wedding. My workplace has definitely given me a lot of opportunities to explore. I’d love to have my own business someday. This was something I even tried to work on a few years ago. The company allowed me to work part time and give time to my business as well but it didn’t really work out. I do plan on trying again though, maybe after I’ve retired.
